An Article from the Pokemon.com mentions Lunatone and Solrock can never be in the same region at the same time

Of particular note are the mighty Lunatone and Solrock, which can be found throughout the world, but never in the same region at the same time

Solving the Mini-riddle, our guess is that Lunatone and Solrock will follow Day and Night Cycle!

Update: After Half a day of Spawns, it appears that Solrock and Lunatone are just Regionals rather than being based on the time of day. Solrock is in the Americas and Africa. Lunatone is in Europe, Asia and Oceania. They are similar to Seviper and Zangoose and might rotate in future.  

Btw while we were writing the Article a trainer found Lunatone in the morning in Europe

Niantic announced the Event over on their Official Pokemon GO Site.

Here’s Everything about the Christmas Event that was announced:

• The Event begins today at 1:00 PST.
• Special Pikachu is here.
• More Ice-type Pokemon Spawns.
• New Gen III Ice-type and Water-type Pokemon will be released.

Special Bonus:

First PokeStop Spin between December 22, 1:00 PM to December 25, 1:00 PM (PST) will award you a Single-use Egg Incubator.

Special Box Sale:

Special Boxes will appear Twice during the Event

Items Included in the Box between 21st December 1:00  to December 25th 1:00 PM (PST):

• Lure Modules

We don’t that this Pokemon will be released or not, but image assets – sprites that are used for Pokédex and various other in-game Pokémon lists are being downloaded in the Network Traffic. And Guess what? They all are Water and Ice type, and it’s Iccy Christmas!

We have already seen a plethora of new changes since the introduction of Gen III Pokemon. But Niantic doesn’t seem to have stopped yet.

Today their support page for Evolutions was updated confirming Two Things:

• New Evolution Items: Deepsea Scale and Deepsea Tooth.
• Feebas distance requirement for Evolution.

New Evolution Items

The following was updated on the support page which confirms the addition of the Two New Evolution Items:

“Select Pokémon require an Evolution item as well as Candy to evolve. There are seven different types of Evolution items (Dragon Scale, Deepsea Scale, Deepsea Tooth, King’s Rock, Metal Coat, Sun Stone, and Up-Grade) that can be used to evolve these Pokémon. You can collect Evolution items by visiting PokéStops.”

Deepsea Scale and Deepsea Tooth, both are evolution items used to evolve Clamperl.

Depending on the Item used Clamperl will either evolve into Huntail or Gorebyss.

Feebas Distance Requirement

Feebas will require a certain Buddy distance before it is ready to be evolved.

Feebas will evolve into Milotic after completing a certain amount of Buddy Distance

This was confirmed by the following statement:

“In addition to collecting Candy, select Pokémon, like Feebass, need to be walked as your buddy Pokémon before they are ready to be evolved.“

Feebas evolves into Milotic, which is one of the best Pokemon from Gen III in the current game meta. Although it isn’t the best of Water-type attackers like Gyarados, it does find itself in the Best of Water Type Pokemon available.

As of now, the Distance requirement is not known, but we expect the same to be updated very soon.

Edit : The Buddy Distance requirement for evolving Feebas to Milotic is 20KM.

A new wave of EX Raid invites has been distributed, targeting the December 18th. This could Possibly mean a Groudon raid.

As for Groudon :  Tier 5 (Legendary) Raid Boss, with Boss CP of 59505 and Max Capture CP of 2785 (for perfect IV score). Groudon is a GROUND type, NOT soloable Legendary POkemon and as we know Clear weather would probably strengthen him even more.

Even so this could also mean Mewtwo Or Groudon , Groudon was a part of the Gen 3 release trailer tease , but this would probably be too soon for him to be a part of Ex Raids.

These Raids could take plave in a pattern :

• sponsored and non sponsored locations
• gyms mostly located in parks

As we are writing this post, Gen III is already out and weather conditions are also live.

Apart from them the Battle Party feature is also available. And the Free additional 50 Pokemon Storage slots have also been updated.

Battle Party feature is now activated in Pokemon GO and can be accessed on the Left of the Pokemon Screen option.
