We’re not interrupting the Community day but a few hours ago Niantic officially announced the return of Legendary Pokémon Ho-Oh along with its shiny form.

Ho-Oh will return starting May 19 (which is today for some of you) and leave us again on June 7, so make sure to try as hard as you can to grab one!

Ho-Oh will appear in Gyms across the globe alongside Latias and Latios, which will remain in their designated regions. Plus, if you’re fortunate, you might be able to encounter a Shiny Ho-Oh after you win the battle!

Recently a New Bug was found which prevented players from catching the Raid boss after the raid if anyone from the group had backed out.

After few hours of Report, Niantic officially announced that the bug has been resolved.

Niantic Support tweeted the following :

We’ve resolved an issue which prevented some Trainers from completing Raid Battles. We apologize if you encountered this issue.

Few of the Trainers from our Community were affected by this Bug, They Contacted Niantic support for Reimbursement of Pass and received the following mail of Reimbursement and the following message.

In addition, we’ll be also extending the deadline for catching Ho-oh. There will be more information coming out.

The News is still not confirmed by Niantic, as it only mail received by Niantic Support and they might change at any time!

The Game_Master File has been updated again. This time the update confirm Ho-Oh’s Base Capture Rate to be 2%.

Ho-Oh was made available as a reward for everyone after successful completion of the Global Catch Challenge

With this BCR, Ho-Oh now lands in the same difficulty tier as Lugia, which was pretty difficult to catch. So our advice for you guys would be to throw balls intelligently and avoid wasting any of them. Plus using a Golden Razz on every throw is also advisable considering its impact on the Catch Rate.

Here’s a table with different Catch Rate Combinations available.

This shows catch rates for various Berry/Throw combinations effectiveness.

With this catch rates its clear that Ho-Oh won’t go down easily without a fight. So we would advise you to use the Stop and Throw technique to have a greater chance of hitting an Excellent throw. Which has proved to be working well with Ho-Oh by many trainers.

After a lot of speculation regarding Ho-Oh test raids. Ho-Oh has been finally released as a Raid Boss around the world, in the immense success of Global Catch Challenge!

Ho-Oh will be appearing as a Legendary Raid boss until December 12th of 2017 everywhere around the globe, and the best part is No EX Raid Pass needed. (Ho-Oh Raid Counters Infographics at the bottom of the post)

Chrales, a data miner with the PoGO Dev discord channel managed to get the Graphics and news message that will be appearing in Game.

Another Ho-Oh test EX-raid spotted Japan, this time taking place in another city Himeji. The Test raid was observed at 10:30 Japanese Local time. (Screenshots and Tweets attached to the bottom of the post)

Similar to yesterday’s test, the Gym (APA Hotel, coordinates 34.8293113, 134.6911851,17) also had the Pokémon GO Travel logo.

We still don’t know the time and when and how the Ho-Oh will be released, but we’re hoping it will happen soon. (Don’t forget to check Ho-Oh Counters Infographics at bottom of the post)

Another Interesting fact we observed yesterday, Almost all of the Niantic employees and Pokemon GO Travel Youtubers in Japan have posted on social media yesterday from the exact same beach where the first Ho-Oh EX Raid test took place. Making it believe they having been invited to test the Ho-Oh Raid.

Today Ho-Oh test was spotted by Multiple Japanese local trackers, The raid was spotted around 13:40 local time in the Uradome Coast gym located at 35.592504, 134.304881, Moreover, The gym has a special Pokémon GO logo inside the photo disc (Screenshots shared at the End of the Post).

As of far as we are aware, no invites are distributed for the this Ho-Oh Raid till now.

And as we’re all aware Pokémon GO Travel YouTube squad have got an Invitation from Niantic for some testing purpose in Japan, we’re not sure that they are testing this field or not, but they would be included in one way or another.

If Ho-oh is going to release we expect it to happen, during the Global Catch Challenge celebration in Tottori, similar to how Mewtwo was released. (We have attached the counters Infographics at the bottom of the post)

At the first sight, we were also suspicious, but after getting confirmation and reports from many Japanese players and Trackers, it shows that Ho-Oh raid will be soon out and testing has begun.

Its still too good to be true and, We still have very own reasons to suspect this piece of information, as Niantic Support doesn’t have a tradition of leaking important info in e-mails.

Please try to manage your hype responsibly, we haven’t received any confirmation yet. According to a reddit thread that’s gaining traction, the Japanese Pokemon GO Support officials have confirmed the following:

• Mewtwo EX Raid tests are over in Japan
• Ho-Oh will start appearing as an EX raid boss in December!

The reddit thread shows an e-mail sent out to a Japanese player, stating Ho-Oh will start appearing as soon as the Legendary Beasts finish rotation which are Entei , Raikou and Suicune. The support officials recommended to enjoy the Halloween and Tottori (JP only, sand dune event) events in the meanwhile.
