Pokemon GO has started testing Power Up Pokestops and Gyms: Here’s everything you should know

Trainers, Pokemon GO has started testing the Power Up Pokestops and Gym feature and a lot of new details have been revealed with this test, without further ado, let’s deep dive in!

Note: According to the reports, The Power up Pokestops feature is currently being tested by players of Level 20 or higher in New Zealand. 

What is Power Up Pokestops or Gyms Feature?

Through the upcoming feature, We will be able to temporarily level up a PokeStop or Gym to reach Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3. Each level will provide more powerful or valuable items on each spin.

How to Power up Pokestops or Gyms?

To power up a PokéStop or Gym, you must contribute location points, which will be represented by tick marks around the outside of the Photo Disc.

You can contribute location points to a PokéStop or Gym by uploading an AR scan of that location, more AR scans will contribute more location points and power up the PokéStop or Gym to subsequent levels for a temporary period.

What are Pokestops or Gym Levels and Rewards?

The Pokestops or Gym levels are still not disclosed by Niantic, but thanks to our data miners (PokeMiner) who got the inside information from the Game Master!

Here’s are the Level details found inside the latest Game Master Update:

Note: Powering up PokéStops and Gyms is currently only available to Trainers in certain regions as part of a test. The final functionality is subject to change.
