We have picked up some pieces from the interview as it covers a long array of questions and found some that might be of your interest.

Overall, Niantic is looking forward to releasing yearly new content in the form of New Generations and other updates like Trading, PvP etc, seem to be spread out throughout the timeline.

Here are some interesting bits we found with the help of Google Translate:
  • Next Content Update i.e. Gen III, is coming soon:

“There is a lot of Pokémon that have not yet been launched, so I think the next secret weapon will be the launch of the next Pokémon generation. I hope the players will soon see them.” 

  • New Battle Mode planned for 2018 : 

“We are planning to develop a new battle mode. I can say this is very interesting for us, let’s see how it could be achieved in 2018”

  • Be Ready for more advanced social features:

Hanke said that he could only disclose that these new features are focused on enhancing local communities and their interactions.
