In collaboration with Mission Blue, Niantic is hosting local cleanup events around the world on the Earth Day which is on April 22, 2018. More than 35 local cleanup events will be taking place in 12 countries around the world.
The cleanup event is hosted by local nonprofits, these cleanup events will involve picking up trash and cleaning natural areas alongside other Trainers and local community members.
As part of this promotion, Niantic is providing a set of in-game rewards and all Trainers will receive access to a special avatar item to celebrate Earth Day. The in-game rewards will be released within a 48-hour window from the start of Earth Day.
If 1,500 attendees attend the event than 2x Catch stardust for Grass, water, and Ground-type Pokemon will be awarded unlocked for Trainers around the world for 48 hours and if more than 3,000 attendees attend the event 3x Catch stardust will be provided.
- 1,500 attendees: 2× catch Stardust for Grass-, Water-, and Ground-type Pokémon for 48 hours
- 3,000 attendees: 3× catch Stardust for Grass-, Water-, and Ground-type Pokémon for 48 hours
