With the latest update, Niantic introduced error codes, Pokémon GO Error codes are shorthand identifiers for issues that can happen while playing the game.
This page contains all the Error Code currently present with Encounter situation. Special thanks to myckol who initially collected the info.
ERROR CODES
Error Code (2)
Error Text: Network Error
Encounter Situation: Encountered when entering a gym which was previously errored off, This error appears when a number of problems occur.
Likely Cause: A General error from varying accounts.
Fix: No fix is known at this moment.
Error Code (3)
Error Text: Something went wrong, Please try again
Encounter Situation: While Buying PokeCoins
Likely Cause: Transaction failed (either buying Pokecoins or exchanging in-game items with coins)
Fix: Restart the app and perform the transaction again
Error Code (10)
Error Text: No Internet connectivity
Encounter Situation: When phone has no internet service
Likely Cause: Phone has no internet service
Fix: Make sure you have active internet connection.
Error Code (11)
Error Text: GPS signal not found
Encounter Situation: When game failed to detect location.
Likely Cause: Game has no GPS signal
Fix: Turn on GPS signal, if already on turn on the High accuracy setting.
Error Code (12)
Error Text: Failed to detect location
Encounter Situation: Location tracking is accurate but error persists, also seen at places where game is not available
Likely Cause: Happens while attempting to play in areas where the game is geo-blocked (eg. China).
Fix: No fix is known at this moment.

Error Text: Error
Encounter Situation: Getting kicked out of gym battle when a raid starts or trying to feed berry to a Pokemon that no longer exist.

Error Text: Error
Encounter Situation: When there is a disconnection during Pokemon power-up. As a result, there was a mismatch in Stardust and Pokemon CP.
Likely Cause: Server error when powering up.
Fix: Resolves itself after catching another Pokemon.

Error Text: Error
Encounter Situation: When tapping on a Pokemon that was already caught by my Go+
Likely Cause: Wild Pokemon that user clicked on no longer exists (de-spawned or already caught via Go+)
Fix: The issue is fixed upon restarting the app.

Encounter Situation: Caused by server lag, getting kicked out of gym and lag when clicking nearby Pokemon
Likely Cause: Likely caused by delayed server response
Fix: No fix is known at this moment.
Error Code (29)
Error Text: Error
Encounter Situation: Happens when you leave a gym battle (due to an error or player’s action), but the game doesn’t register that you’re no longer in a gym battle.
Likely Cause: The game doesn’t register that you’re no longer in a gym battle.
Fix: Wait for 10 minutes before rejoining the battle.

Encounter Situation: when trying to place a Pokemon in a recently neutralized gym
Likely Cause: Failed to place Pokemon in Gym
Fix: Reclaim the Gym and place your Pokémon afterward.

Encounter Situation: when trying to spin a Gym when moving
Likely Cause: loss of GPS signal (‘drifting’) while trying to spin a Gym.
Fix: Restart game and GPS Connection.
Error Code (33)
Error Text: Error
Encounter Situation: Failed to join a raid and received this error when “Go” was seen, and also encountered when attempting to join a raid with a non-auto time on the phone. Error disappeared when clock was set back to automatic
Likely Cause: Time-sync issues.
Fix: Try setting your phone clock to automatic.
