Trainers, we can confirm that new Pokemon Go Ban wave has gone out, and closely following the release of the recent update and targeting players who have violated the in-game Terms of Service.

There are lot reports from Spoofers and that their accounts got banned when they installed new update 0.107.1, on popular botting and cheating forums and Discord servers.

The Pokemon GO Ban Wave of 2018 has started.

Information is still solidifying, trainers. Thus far we know this wave:

  • Players are banned after updating to the new update 0.107.1 for Android and 1.77.1 for iOS.
  • Displays a message to the targeted accounts: “Your account has been terminated for violating the Terms of Service
  • Both iOS and Android spoofers have reported being banned.
  • Not all spoofers have been banned in this wave.
  • The majority of banned accounts are bot accounts created by and used by maps, levelling services and similar software that was powered by such accounts
  • Currently unknown what the criteria are for the wave, or how old the last offence in which qualified.

Judging by the information collected so far:

  • The primary targets of this ban wave were the bots, and not spoofers.
  • Most of the Ban Waves are for the accounts which have made out-of-date API requests. Many 3rd party services make illicit API calls and don’t always keep up-to-date
  • Many Spoofers who have used 3rd party services to make illicit API calls were flagged and banned.
  • Ban waves for only falsifying GPS have only happened once in the history and targeted one GPS manipulation app: PokeGO++.

Every anti-cheat and ban wave is great progress towards stabilizing the game and opening up opportunities for new features in the long-term.
