As Lugia comes back to life after a while being absent from the game, we are here to help you guys get the most out of all your Pokemon and give you the best chance to catch the Legendary Pokemon.
We have updated our previous Raid Battle Guide and added all the best possible Counters that were released into the game, after Lugia’s introduction. If you don’t have all the latest Pokemon that came out yet, we have even kept the Old counters in this article as well, which will help you get through the Batlle easily. So without any further ado, let’s get started.
Lugia, Boosted by the Windy Weather, is a PSYCHIC andtype and it’s got a number of solid Strong counters.
Lugia Raid Boss CP is found to be 42,753 and it can have a
- Max CP of 2056, for a Level 20 Non-boosted Catch,
- Max CP of 2570, fo Level 25 Boosted Catch.
|BUDDY CANDY DISTANCE||20 KM|
|BASE CAPTURE RATE||2%|
Lugia Raid Counters
|Counters||Quick Move||Charged Move|
|Thunder Shock||Wild Charge|
|Rock Throw||Rock Slide|
Below These are the Counters From our Old Raid Battle Guide

Lugia takes Super Effective damage from ELECTRIC, DARK, ICE, GHOST and ROCK type moves, due to its dual PSYCHIC and type.
Additional Lugia Countersching Lugia
These Pokemon are weaker than the counters mentioned above, but they are still viable, especially in large raid groups:
- Steelix with Iron Tail/ Crunch
- Slowbro with Water Gun/ Ice Beam
- Slowking with Water Gun/ Blizzard
- Umbreon with Snarl/ Foul Play
- Houndoom with Snarl/ Foul Play
Lugia is much larger than Articuno and its target areas are very much easier to hit. Warning! Lugia’s attack is long.
We would suggest watching a couple of them before throwing at first to get used to the timing
We Would highly recommend using the golden razz as the base catch rate is 2% (With Golden razz, catch rate is 5% + etc bonuses such as curveball)
|Extrasensory (Quick Move)||Future Sight (Charged Move)|
That’s it for now guys!!
