The Community Day 6 is about to end in Asia-Pacific’s and the following things are observed.

Obviously, The first report confirms Shiny Larvitar, Apart from that many Errors and Few other things were observed:

LAG! LAG! LAG! and Server Errors

At the Start of the Event, it was a totally unplayable condition, different types of errors were encountered, PTC Login Error and slow loading. Although Niantic Acknowledged the issue and Extended the Asia-Pacific’s community day by 2 hours.

Apart from that Few other things were observed:

  • Shiny rates were surprisingly high this time. According to the Report, trainers managed to encounter 1 Shiny out of 25 Larvitars encounters. (Personally Encountered 1 Shiny in 10) but finally, all that depends on luck!
  • Larvitar spawn rate seemingly is much higher than previous Community Days, according to first reports, but in few areas, it was around catching 5-6 Larvitar in 5-10 minutes, while few areas reported only 2-3 in 5-10 minutes, it totally depends on which area you’re playing.
  • Catch rate is pretty good, almost it was easy to get in one throw (With Combination of Razz Berry and Great Ball).
  • All Field Research Catch oriented quests now involve Larvitar.

Few Reports also showed No SmackDown on Evolving Larvitar

It’s an advice to trainers not to evolve you precious community day Pokemon during error conditions, It’s Not a good idea to evolve it while servers aren’t working properly

Personal Views: At the Start of the event it was hard luck for all the Asia-Pacific’s the App wouldn’t even start, it was Literally unplayable conditions, it was like more errors were encountered than Larvitar. Although the start was not good, Niantic as always took a prompt action and solved the issue and extended the community day by 2 hours, Things seem to have gotten better after the 2 hours. Things were back to normal and had fairly high rates of Larvitar Spawn, I almost caught 40 Larvitars in 30 minutes and out of that 2 were shiny. Even the catch rate was good, with the combination of Razz Berry and Great or Nice throw I was able to catch in a single throw.

Community Views: It Looks many were disappointed.

It is exciting to see that Niantic adapted the Field Research tasks according to the community day making it easy and quick opportunity to put their hands on very much needed items throughout Community Day.

Confirmed Rewards are

5x Great Ball 2x Ultra Ball 2x Pinab berry 500 Stardust

Make sure you get a Tyranitar with SmackDown. SmackDown is the special move this month.

Make sure you use this search string to find the Perfect IV Larvitar and evolve it.

Best Larvitar Search Trick

Caught too many Larvitar? Now finding the best IV Larvitar in the inventory to evolve would be too difficult and time-consuming, instead, we can use a search string to find the best. Generate a search string of Minimum 90% IV and paste it in the search bar to filter out the best Larvitar for you.

You can even use the keyboard search replacement trick to make it easier, or either you can generate search strings of your need and store it in some Google Keep or Note and use it find the best ones.

Note: This trick won’t work if you power up your Pokemon

Here’s a search string you can use to find Perfect IV Larvitar in your Pokémon storage:

246&cp12,cp40,cp67,cp94,cp122,cp149,cp176,cp203,cp231,cp258,cp284,cp310,cp336,cp361,cp387,cp413,cp439,cp465,cp491,cp517,cp542,cp568,cp594,cp620,cp646,cp672,cp698,cp723,cp749,cp775,cp788,cp801,cp814,cp827,cp840&hp10,hp19,hp24,hp29,hp33,hp36,hp40,hp43,hp45,hp48,hp50,hp53,hp55,hp57,hp59,hp61,hp63,hp65-hp66,hp68,hp70,hp72-hp73,hp75-hp76,hp78-hp79,hp81-hp82,hp84-hp87

Example: Using Eevee Perfect IV Search String

SmackDown Move Stats

Smackdown is a ROCK type fast move

Type ROCK
Duration 900ms
Damage start 500ms
Damage end 800ms
Energy delta 7

  • SmackDown Tyranitar would be the best ROCK type attacker in the game
  • Some other rock type Pokémon would greatly benefit too but Tyranitar would still outperform them
  • It will rank pretty high against other generalists too.

Trainers,

When everyone thought that Niantic would be taking a break from events, they surprise us all by pulling something from their hat once again! The announcement titled: Alolan Forms are coming to Pokemon GO! went live a couple hours ago on Pokémon GO Live and things just got even better in the past hour! Here’s our News Roundup and What is Alolan Form.

Here’s the Original Message from Niantic

“Sunny days are ahead! Whether your forecast calls for rain or shine, we’re celebrating all around the world by introducing some special Pokémon from the tropical Alola region to Pokémon GO. Get ready for some of the Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region to appear in their Alolan forms! These unique variants were first seen in the Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon video games, and they will make their way to Pokémon GO in the coming weeks. Keep an eye out for news related to this exciting change—and don’t forget to tell your friends! Stay safe, and happy exploring!”

So what are Alolan Forms?

Alola is Region Variant Pokemon

regional variant is a species of Pokémon found in a specific region that takes on a different form than it does in most other regions. These Pokémon have uniquely adapted to habitats that are different than those where its species naturally live in other parts of the world. As such, many things may be different about them, from their appearance and way of living to even their type, moves, Abilities, base stats and height and weight. This is analogous to peripatric speciation in regards to real-world phenomena, where a population that is isolated from the rest of the species develop unique traits and eventually evolve into a new species.

According to Blubapedia

In the Alola region, a species’ regional variant is referred to as its Alola Form. A Pokémon in its Alola Form is described as Alolan — for example, Exeggutor in its Alola Form is referred to as Alolan Exeggutor. Only Pokémon introduced in Generation I have Alola Forms.

In Alola, when breeding Pokémon whose offspring has a regional variant, the offspring’s form depends on its parents. If either parent is the species’ normal form and holds an Everstone, and if the offspring is in the same family as that parent, then the offspring will hatch as the normal form. In all other cases, the offspring will always hatch in its Alola Form.

Trainers,

The Community Day 5 have ended in Asia-Pacific’s and the Middle East region and the following things are observed.

Obviously, The first report confirms Dark Shiny Lizard, Apart from that many other things were observed:

  • Shiny rates are fairly high, similar to the last event. According to the Report, trainers managed to encounter 1 Shiny out of 20 Charmander encounters. (Personally Encountered 2 Shiny in 18) but finally, all that depends on luck!
  • Few trainers reported experiencing lags, which isn’t unusual during an event.
  • Charmander spawn rate seemingly is much lower than previous Community Days, according to first reports, but in few areas, it was around catching 5-6 Charmander in 5-10 minutes, mixed reports.
  • Catch rate is good, almost it was easy to get in one throw (With Combination of Razz Berry and Great throw).
  • All Field Research Catch oriented quests now involve Charmander.

Make sure you Read the Guide to skip Pokemon animation to increase your catch rate Guide: Skip Pokeball shaking animation and Pokémon catch screen

Personal Views: It was a hard-luck for me as I was not able to attend the event from start, I attended the event when it was just 20 minutes left and that 20 minutes were totally worth it. I almost caught 18 Charmanders and out of that 2 were shiny. Even the catch rate was good, with the combination of Razz Berry and Great or Nice throw I was able to catch in a single throw.

Community Views: It Looks Asia-Pacific’s Community was bit disappointed.

It is exciting to see that Niantic adapted the Field Research tasks according to the community day making it easy and quick opportunity to put their hands on very much needed items throughout Community Day.

Make sure you get a Charizard with Blast Burn. Blast Burn is the special move this month.

Ho-Oh will appear in Gyms across the globe alongside Latias and Latios, which will remain in their designated regions. Plus, if you’re fortunate, you might be able to encounter a Shiny Ho-Oh after you win the battle!

Trainers,

The Community day is just around the corner, we have a lot to be excited about! Not only do we get the Generation 1 FIRE type starter “Lizard Pokémon” (Charmander) as the event spawn, but with 3-hour lures and 3x Stardust.

On Evolving Charmander will have the exclusive move, Similar to the April announcement, the exclusive move is not yet known (Blast Burn) and is confirmed to only be accessible by evolving a Charmander that was caught during the event all the way to a Charizard.

Set yourself a reminder/alarm to go off about 15 minutes before the end of the event to go through all of your Charmander to find the best options to evolve to obtain Exclusive move,  don’t forgot Community Day Exclusive moves are only obtained during the event.

We prepared a table for common Charmander catch scenarios. Assumes that you have gold medal and that throws are curved:

Pokéball Throw Rate
Normal Nice 30% – 36%
Great 37% – 45%
Excellent 45% – 50%
Great Nice 41% – 49%
Great 50% – 59%
Excellent 60% – 65%
Ultra Nice 50% – 59%
Great 60% – 69%
Excellent 70% – 75%

Tips and Notes

Burn Through That Incense!

Image result for Incense Pokemon go

Community Day is the perfect time to dust off those incense and use them! Incense spawns will be mostly Charmander (based on the last community day).

Stock Up

Keep a healthy supply of Poke Balls and berries so you don’t have to worry about running out.

Get your Medal

If you haven’t gotten your FIRE medal yet, this is a good opportunity to earn it.

Field Research Task (?)

Look out for a possible Field Research Task related to catching Charmander

Watch the Time

Set a timer for 15 Minutes before the event ends so you can sort out and evolve for the Exclusive Move (Make sure you use the above search string to search faster)

Community Bundle

Look out for a Bundle in the in-game shop for items that will contain helpful items for Community Day.

As we go through the analysis it clearly shows these boxes aren’t that good as the Kanto Celebration sale. If you’re holding enough number of Lucky eggs and star pieces and looking only for battle than Special Box is for you, if you make 3 purchase of Special Box you get 18 Passes while in the ultra box you get only 15.

As you’d expect, however, the other items in the Ultra Box do make it the best overall value of the three boxes if you take the non-purchasable items into account. If you can afford it, go for the Ultra Box
